Jute yarn is a string or thread made by spinning natural jute fibres together. Approximately 90% of all jute fibre is spun into yarn. Once spun, jute yarn has many practical applications, and is used across many industries.

Jute is used chiefly to make cloth for wrapping bales of raw cotton, and to make sacks and coarse cloth. The fibers are also woven into curtains, chair coverings, carpets, area rugs, hessian cloth, and backing for linoleum. The fibers are used alone or blended with other types of fiber to make twine and rope. Jute is the name of the plant that this fabric is derived from, but you might know it as “burlap.” Essentially, jute fabric is a tough, durable, and rough fabric that is most commonly found in products like carpets, window treatments, rugs, and even furniture covers.
