Android smartphones have used the USB Micro-B connector for both data transfer and charging almost exclusively since their introduction in 2008. Android tablets also use Micro USB but often have a separate port for their own power adapter. A cable connector is the component that you attach to the end of a cable so that it can plug into a port or an interface of an electronic system. The majority of connectors are either male or female gender; the males have one or more exposed pins and the female contains holes for those male pins to insert into. Electrical connectors are classified into three types based on their termination ends: board-to-board connectors, cable/wire-to-cable/wire connectors, and cable/wire-to-board connectors. Six levels of interconnection are normally seen in electrical connectors.
