Tin plating offers strong electrical conductivity, corrosion resistance and provides enhanced solderability of base metals that are not otherwise effectively soldered to. MWS offers tin plated wire in both bright (die-burnished) and matte electrodeposits. Tinned copper is primarily used in wastewater treatment facilities, subway systems, and other contaminated environments susceptible to long-term exposure to excess water. Tinned copper wire is a type of uninsulated wire. To create tinned copper wire, a bare copper wire is coated in a layer of tin. This means tinned copper wire benefits from the high conductivity of copper wire, with the additional benefits of tin coating.
